Biography
I’m Arwen van Walsum, a 20-year-old photographer based in Rotterdam. From an early age, I’ve been drawn to observing people—their movements, interactions, and unspoken stories. Photography became my way of capturing these fleeting moments.
Currently, I’m studying at St. Joost School of Art & Design, where I continue to refine my artistic voice. My background in dance influences the way I see the world—fluidity, rhythm, and stillness shape the way I compose images. Whether working with people, fashion, or abstract motion, I’m always searching for the in-between moments that hold meaning.

My Work
My photography explores movement, presence, and the balance between control and spontaneity. I experiment with light, composition, and texture to create images that go beyond the expected.
Rather than fitting into a single genre, my work shifts between documentary, portraiture, and fashion—always with a focus on the energy within an image. I’m drawn to stories that unfold in subtle details, capturing what is often overlooked.
